Welcome to NH’s Great Park Pursuit!
 
We are excited you have joined us for the 2008 New Hampshire Great Park Pursuit!  As we get ready for the Kick-Off event at Bear Brook State Park this Saturday, May 31st, we want to review the program and help you get you ready for the first pursuit.  Look for more e-mails to follow next week.
 
A guided event is a fully staffed event where teams check in and participate in a wide variety of activities coordinated and staffed by NH State Parks and its partners.  Guided events are scheduled to take place from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  Teams can arrive at any time to participate but should allow at least one hour on site.  There is a team challenge with the opportunity to earn extra points on August 17th and teams should plan on the full day for that event.
 
A self-guided event allows teams to visit a designated park and engage in an activity on their own or take part in regular programming at the site.  Hours of operation for the self-guided sites vary and it is part of your challenge to confirm hours and days!
 
The dates of the Great Park Pursuit are as follows:
 
May 31st                         Guided Event – Bear Brook State Park
June 14-15th                    Self-Guided Event – National Get Outdoors Day
July 19th                         Guided Event – NH Trails Day (NEW DATE - as of June 1)
July 27-Aug 2nd              Self-Guided Event – Discover the Power of Parks
August 17th                     Final Event - at Odiorne State Park
 
All events are rain or shine so be prepared for the weather, pack a lunch, bug spray and sunscreen! 
 
Look for e-mails each week from us with State Park trivia and facts plus hints and clues for the next adventure.
 
We still have room available for a few more teams, so have your friends and family join in on the fun!  Our Great Park Pursuit team is looking forward to meeting and hosting you at our fabulous State Parks.
